Who’s behind bumptobeyond?
Behind it is me, Ina. I wear many hats but most importantly I’m Mama to three very different and amazing little people.
Parenting my smallies was and is an incredible dance of growth, change and learning… I am so grateful to have been introduced to Responsive Parenting early on in my parenting. It is a powerful concept to meet everyone’s needs in this process (including those of the parents!). I’ve applied it in my teaching, and as a volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor and Sling Meet Facilitator I’ve been priveledged to introduce parents to this concept and have experienced the empowering impact it has on their lives.
I love what I do. I am passionate about what I do. I’ve grown with and into what I do. I grow more with every parent I work with, every new phase my own little people enter. I’m good at what I do (except the paperwork and figures and tech side of things, that needs major improvement!). And I hope that it’s a tiny contribution to a more compassionate society.
And what’s bumptobeyond about?
Bumptobeyond grew from a desire to share the concept, biological background and tools of Responsive Parenting with a wide range of parents.
“There are two things children should get from their parents: roots and wings.” (J. W. Goethe)
That’s what bumptobeyond is all about, really, my Code of Practice, so to speak.
bumptobeyond advocates informed choice … The information my customers and clients receive is non-judgemental, impartial and always evidence based. And I make sure I’m up to speed with research.
I always pick parents and their children up where they are … starting anywhere else simply doesn’t make sense! Every person is different, with a personal history and very individual needs in different situations. At bumptobeyond, there are no one-size-fits-all solutions.
bumptobeyond offers compassionate and practical support … First I listen to my client’s and customer’s needs. Together we choose tools that will work. Clients leave bumptobeyond confident in their abilities and with their choice.
There’s a longer version of how I ended up doing what I do in this blog post and I’ve also featured in My Little Babog’s Meet the Mumtrepreneur series.
